This past Saturday saw many of our experienced and tournament newcomers get together for a long and eventful event at the Steveston Martial Arts Centre. There was a small team from Alberta along with a strong delegation from California that made this event enjoyable and a great learning experience for all the students at the dojo.

BC Games Paricipants
Congratulations to those students who will be representing BKA and Zone 4 at the BC Games tournament.
The BC Winter Games is a bi-annual tournament held all over BC for many sports, including, Karate, Judo, Wrestling, Hockey, Skiing and many other sports. We have a long history of competing at this tournament, as it is a precursor to the BC Team program. Currently the Winter Games is a tournament for 12 and 13 year olds.
From our dojo we have the following students participating

Special Thank you to Sensei Matt who had the Wesburn and Kensington students well prepared for the selection tournament, where over 24 athletes competed for 10 spots.
The tournament will be held in Vernon on the last weekend of February.

Hi All,
The BC Team selection tournament happened on January 14th, here are the results for the Burnaby Karate Academy.
The selection tournament was a round robin tournament that had the top four participants from the Provincial Championships battle to get the two spots available for the National Championships. The National Championships will be in Richmond this year in March.
