Hi Everyone,
We have had a busy week with guest instructor Sensei Oliva in Vancouver. Sensei Oliva has been visiting our dojo since 2006 and has been responsible for a lot of our success at National and International competitions. Sensei is an international coach who spends almost his entire year travelling the world and coaching many National team athletes and coaches.
We are extremely lucky to have his guidance and visits! It was another spirited training session where a lot was learned as usual. Sensei's son and daughter and law have recently moved to Vancouver so we were lucky to spend time with his family this year as well.

RESULTS FROM BRAZIL!!!
Greetings from Brazil :)
After battling technology again I have finally been able to update the blog. Here are the results from the tournament
Izzy: Fought Brazil in her first match. After a great start she fell behind and ended up losing 1-2. It was a great first international tournament for her and after winning the National Championships this year we can say she had an excellent season.
Matt Ly: Fought Mexico first round, after getting ahead 3-0 Matt received a head kick that tied the match. In the last 5 seconds Mexico scored and Matt lost 3-4. Matt was well prepared and we are happy with his progress.
Derek Chan: Derek had an amazing run defeating Venezuala and Brazil but losing a close decision in overtime against Mexico. Derek beat USA to WIN THE BRONZE MEDAL!
Jusleen Virk: Jusleen won some great matches against Mexico and Venezuala to reach the final. Unfortunately she lost to the other Venezualan fighter and ended with a SILVER MEDAL! She also won all her matches in team kumite to earn another BRONZE MEDAL in team kumite.
Reid Lofstrom: Reid had an excellent match against Venezuala before losing a close match to Domincan Republic. She did not get a chance for repecharge.
I will update the blog later with more stories from the tournament. See you when we come back!
